No folks, this isn’t a joke. SlamBlogger has managed to grab sponsors from all across the blogosphere. From the small fish to the big boys, everyone seemed to want in on this one! For good reason of course…fear of getting slammed.
Sorry Gyutae, you’re no longer the king of contests. SlamBlogger has put you to shame. Without further ado, the sponsors:
- Daniel from DailyBlogTips - Mystery prize that we haven’t decided on yet. The only information being released at this point is that it will have a value of $5,000 because $100,000 sounded better than $95,000. Wouldn’t you agree?
- Turnip from TurnipOfPower - One hour consultation - $8,000 value
- Uncle Che from AZBlogging - A promise to reply to atleast one comment that you’ve made on his blog. He will pretend to care that you even exist in this world. - $2,000 value
- Nadeesha from RockFuse - One hour consultation - $1,000 value
- Max from BloggingExperiment - One copy of Keyword Fantastico! The awesomeness of finding search volume estimates to your favorite keywords. Apparently, someone forgot to tell him about the free SEO Book Keyword Tool, oh well. - $1,000 value
- Graham from Entrecard - 5 minute consultation (he’s a busy guy) - $7,000 value
- The Noob from BloggerNoob - One hour consultation - $6,000 value
- SlamBlogger from SlamBlogger - World Famous Ebook (hasn’t been written yet) - $70,000 value
Ok, I lied. I’m not giving away a damn thing. Disappointed? Ya, well shit happens. In fact, lately it seems to be happening quite a bit. Jokers throwing up big numbers in the “largest contest ever!” How many “largest contest ever” can there be exactly? I guess, if you can continue to add worthless ebooks, and ridiculously overvalued consultation prizes, there’s no end in sight.
Look, I have no doubt that some of these people are very successful. However, don’t try to fool anyone into thinking that one hour on the phone or an instant messenger with any of these “gurus” is worth $3 grand.
Chances are, they’re just going to spit out the same repackaged garbage that we read everyday. Last time I checked, garbage doesn’t come with a price tag.
Dear BIG Jason Henderson from the “BIG Marketing Blog” located at BIG Marketing Online Dot Com which is currently hosting the BIG Blog Contest
Taking a quote from a comment left on John Chows post about this BIG blog contest that is titled “Over 40 Thousand Dollars in Cash and Prizes”
“It should be more like $500 In Cash, Some Ebooks, And A Bunch of Arbitrarily Overvalued Consulting”
But of course, that somehow equals $40,000 according to BIG Jason’s calculations. BIG Jason’s RSS feed even caught onto the game, making 262 RSS readers magically appear as 12,272 readers.
Sir, I believe you may want to stop exaggerating and re-evaluate what’s “BIG.” Women always find out in the end.
Disclaimer: None of the “sponsors” mentioned above were involved in any way with this slam.
